BT Synergy 4500 DECT Twin Digital Cordless Telephone with Answering Machine

As everyone else is saying – DO NOT BUY THESE. I would have given them 0 stars if that option existed. These phones are RUBBISH. Repeat RUBBISH. Often I would pick up the phone with no response and lose the call. The second handset mostly didnt recognise the base unit. Constant beeps and switching itself on and off during a call. Poor battery life. Stupidly I bough a second set thinking that the first set was a rogue set. The second set was just as bad. Throw in the bin. As already said dont take these if given away free – they’ll just bring you frustration.

I purchased these phones thinking BT was reliable and reputable.
The phone battery life dies after 1 phone call of approx 15 minutes. In addition the sound quality is really distorted. Do not buy!

BT Synergy 4500 DECT Twin Digital Cordless Telephone with Answering MachineDo yourself a favour and do not buy these phones, even if they give them away DO NOT take them. Seriously these phones have caused me so many problems I could fill a book. I have a credit card machine on the same line, I’ve only just discovered that the problems I’ve been having with that were caused by the phone. I’ve spent 100′s of hours on maintenance calls for the CC machine, had BT out to check all the equipment, only to be told that it was not BT fault, and was promptly sent a bill. Thank god for these reviews on Amazon, I read as many as I can find before I purchase ANYTHING now and it’s saved me a lot of headaches. I’m away to purchase another set of Digital phones (my 3rd in 3 years all BT) but I wont be purchasing ANYTHING from BT this time fancy the panasonic KTG8323 just read loads of good reviews.

bought two of these sets as I needed phones all around house.
The phones don’t charge, the handsets don’t work, you sometimes can then sometimes can’t answer the phone depending on how the particular handset is feeling!! You can’t make calls then you can make calls. Out of the two sets I bought only one phone works. These are 6 months old!! Rubbish! Anyone want to buy two second hand ones off me?

I have sets of these phones at my small office and at home, and bought some for family member. We use them for calls and sending texts and, apart from a few freeze-ups when preparing texts (when that message is lost before being sent) we’ve had no problems. My advice is to save the completed text before trying to send it – just in case of a freeze-up – and this will avoid losing the text if it couldn’t be transmitted the first time. Remember, you do have to be on the appropriate BT tariff to get free texts (about 100/month). The comments about battery life/strength are valid to a point. These phones normally come supplied with low-powered rechargeables, so you need to buy better ones which last longer. I have calls lasting an hour with no worries. If you follow these tips, you should have no problems, and the sellers here on Amazon were extremely helpful and quick to respond when something was wrong with one of the handsets.
