1980s Crazy Calls Answering machine gag cassette.

This seemed like an old commercial the first time I saw it (Actually it was) ..but at only a little over 2.00(!) a message, how could you lose?

  1. I want this.

  2. Flashback.

  3. Dude! My family actually bought this and I still have the cassette! “Nobody’s home! Nobody’s home!”

  4. thats to fucking expensive! even back then

  5. Where’s the song that George Costanza sings?

  6. They used a variant of the Beethoven’s 5th one in a 2nd-season Simpsons ep, where Barney has it on his machine…changes the words to “Nobody’s heeeeeeeere!”, but I think I know where they got it from…LOL

  7. Ditto! Funny thinking we don’t have anything similar to that nowadays in our digital world, sad to see such a novelty die out like that!

  8. That’s my favorite one too….

  9. I remember this commerical! The number still works!!!!!

  10. “The Rap” one is like a slower version of what they did on family guy, which was hilarious.

  11. so if i call this number…

  12. I WANT THIS.

  13. This bring back some memories! This rocks!

Thank you(?) for putting “The Rap” back in my head after a good 20 years of forgetting it. I only wish the announcer guy wasn’t talking over it – I’d have it as my voicemail!

  18. I totally rememer this commercial too, especially Beethoven’s 5th and the rap one. My mom bought a cassette similar to this but it wasn’t as cool. I guess she didn’t want to pay the $14.95 :P

  19. God I remember this ad! Too bad I never had one of those though. I remember some years later a Simpsons episode would spoof the “Beethoven’s 5th” gag with “Nobody’s here, nobody’s here..”

  20. Yeah, I was about the same age myself…my sister used to sing the Beethoven’s Fifth one (“Nobody’s hoooooooome!”) for years afterwards. :-D

  21. Whoever still has this tape I would like a copy.

  22. Me too, and me too again. I still piss people off with that rap.

  23. i would be great if it was.

  24. dude
    i want this
too bad my answering machine is digital
    :/

  25. Wow, I haven’t seen this in like 20 years. I always used to quote the rap one.
